First Deputy PM urges stronger security coordination

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah on Monday issued two ministerial decrees appointing Major General Hamad Al-Munaifias Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs and Major General Fawaz Al-Roumi as Assistant Undersecretary for Support Security Services Affairs. The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef also conferred the rank of major general on Al-Roumi following the Amiri decrees issued on Sunday, which appointed both officials.

The minister congratulated the two assistant undersecretaries on gaining the confidence of the political leadership and wished them success in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. He said the appointments reflect the ministry’s approach to recognizing national competencies and serve as an incentive for security leaders and personnel to continue demonstrating dedication, excellence and professionalism while fostering a culture of achievement and developing future security leaders.

Fahad Al-Yousef stressed that the coming phase requires strengthened teamwork and enhanced coordination among the ministry’s various sectors to improve institutional performance, meet the aspirations of the political leadership and reinforce the country’s security system. He also emphasized the importance of developing human resources, promoting an innovation-driven work environment, improving institutional efficiency, keeping pace with evolving security challenges and implementing the ministry’s strategy to further enhance the readiness and effectiveness of the national security apparatus. The ceremony was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib and several senior security officials.(KUNA)
