First Day of School: 382,000 Students Set to Begin School

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: Amid the ongoing preparations by the educational leaders, the wheel for the 2023/2024 academic year will start rolling this morning with first-year primary school students and about 43,500 university students. About 382,000 primary, intermediate, and secondary school students will join them tomorrow. The number of students in the primary stage is 160,745 male and female students, in intermediate schools 129,832 male and female students, and in secondary schools 91,578. The number of new students at Kuwait University is 7,533 male and female students, distributed among 15 colleges in various literary and scientific specializations.

These colleges completed the student schedules. In this context, Kuwait University has prepared its administrative, academic, and technical capabilities in all departments, colleges, and work centers at the university to receive new and continuing students. It has spared no effort in providing an appropriate academic climate for its students and has exerted great efforts to provide support services, especially in terms of preparing buildings, laboratories, study halls, and parking lots within the university.

Meanwhile, the Acting Director of Kuwait University Professor Dr. Fayez Al-Dhufairi congratulated the entire university family, students, administrative body, and all university employees on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. He said he hoped it would be a distinguished year full of achievements at the educational, academic, and student levels. Dr. Al-Dhufairi called on the students to be diligent, hardworking, and persevering from the first day of the academic year, as they are the nation’s most valuable investment, and through them will be its renaissance and progress.

He stressed that Kuwait University is counting on them to be the best people to express its message and goals through their ambition and excellence in study. Dr. Al-Dhufairi affirmed that Kuwait University, throughout its journey and in continuation of its approach to carrying the message of science and education, is keen to provide the appropriate educational climate to develop their capabilities and provide them with the tools of science and knowledge to be able to keep pace with modern developments and face challenges.
