KATHMANDU, Sept 15, (Xinhua): Nepali President Ram Chandra Poudel on Monday administered the oath of office to the first three ministers of the newly-formed interim government. The televised ceremony took place at the Office of the President in Kathmandu. Rameshore Prasad Khanal, former finance secretary, was sworn in as minister for finance, while Kulman Ghising, former managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, shall be in charge of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport as well as Ministry of Urban Development.

Om Prakash Aryal, a lawyer who previously served as a legal advisor to the Kathmandu mayor, shall head the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Sushila Karki, a former chief justice, was named as the prime minister of the interim government on Friday evening after KP Sharma Oli stepped down as prime minister on Sept. 9 over deadly protests in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.
