KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: Six fire brigades alongside National Guard’s support team joined forces to extinguish a fire that broke out in the warehouse of the National Guard Cooperative located inside Al-Somoud Camp.

Public Relations and Security Information Department stated that teams of firefighters led by the Deputy Director General of Fire Sector Major General Jamal Al-Belaihees were dispatched to the location alongside the support team of the National Guard after the Operations Room of the Fire Department had been notified about the incident at around 2:36 pm.

They managed to douse the flames without casualties. Statement added the fire teams were able to contain the blaze that covered 3000 square/meters area, without report of human injuries or life loss, although material damage was huge.

The cause of fire wasn’t immediately known but investigation is underway to determine the source, and details of the report will be referred to concerned authorities. Director General of Kuwait Fire Service Department Lieutenant General Rakan Al-Mikrad is said to have received a call from the State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohamed Al-Abdullah to make sure of the safety of firemen and provide details of the incident.

Al-Mikrad visited the scene alongside the Undersecretary of National Guard Lieutenant General Hashim Al- Rifaie and other high ranking officials to supervise the operation.
