KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Firefighting teams successfully brought two major fires under control on Friday morning after separate sites in southern Kuwait were struck during what authorities described as hostile attacks by Iran, the General Fire Force announced.
Official spokesman for the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, said the two fires broke out at different locations in the south of the country after they were targeted as part of the Iranian attacks against Kuwait.
He said emergency crews responded immediately to both incidents, deploying significant firefighting resources to prevent the flames from spreading and secure the affected areas.
According to Al-Gharib, six firefighting teams, supported by units from the Kuwaiti Army and the National Guard, were dispatched to the first location, while three firefighting teams responded to the second site.
The teams managed to contain and extinguish both fires after intensive operations, ensuring the affected areas were brought under control.
Al-Gharib confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were recorded in either incident. He added that the damage was limited to property and infrastructure, with authorities continuing to assess the full extent of the material losses.
The General Fire Force praised the swift coordination between civilian firefighters, the Armed Forces, and the National Guard, emphasizing the country's continued readiness to respond to emergencies arising from the ongoing regional security situation.
