Fire, smoke kill Kuwaiti in flat

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 20: The fire that broke out Saturday evening in an apartment of an 11-floor building in Maidan Hawalli, killed a Kuwaiti, reports Al- Rai daily. According to the daily, the Kuwaiti died of asphyxiation.

After the operations room of the Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD) received a report two firefighting teams from Salmiya and Hawalli were sent to the site and upon their arrival it became clear flames and smoke came from the seventh floor. As a precautionary measure firefighters evacuated the building residents and controlled the fire. One Kuwaiti was injured and his condition is believed to be critical. The accident investigation management team started its work to find out the causes of the fire.
