KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The Kuwait Club will face Al-Hikma in the semi-finals of the Asian Basketball League Championship for the West and Central Continent "Super League" at Lusail Arena in Doha, Qatar, at 6:00. In another semi-final match, the Lebanese team Al-Riyadi will compete against Iran's Shahrdari Gorgan at 3:00 pm.
The match between "Al-Abyad" and Al-Hikma promises to be one of the tournament's highlights. German coach Peter Schumers is determined to seize the opportunity to win the continental title and secure a spot in the AFC Champions League. Known for his strategic player recruitment and consistent rotation policy, Schumers ensures his team remains physically and mentally prepared, offering Kuwait a significant advantage.
Meanwhile, the General Assembly of the Kuwait Basketball Association approved the financial and administrative reports for the year ending 2023-2024 and endorsed the work plan for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The meeting, held at the Association's headquarters in the Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Indoor Hall Complex, saw full attendance from General Assembly members, except for Al-Jahra.
Dhari Burgess, President of the Basketball Federation, expressed his gratitude to the General Assembly members for their participation and support, which were crucial in the success of the 2023-2024 sports season and the Association's numerous Gulf, Arab, and Asian achievements at both club and team levels.
