KUWAIT CITY, Sep 6: As part of ongoing efforts to ensure food safety across the country, a team from the Mubarakiya Center, under the Capital Governorate Inspection Department of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, recently conducted a comprehensive inspection of a local bakery. During the visit, the team issued a total of 18 violation reports.
The inspection was led by Mohammed Al-Kandari, Head of the Mubarakiya Food Inspection Center, and included inspectors Ali Al-Salem and Khaled Al-Ustad. Among the violations identified, inspectors discovered food unfit for human consumption, showing significant changes in its natural properties, including alterations in color, texture, and odor. In particular, 3,600 spoiled eggs, which had been used in the preparation of sweets, were seized, along with other spoiled materials weighing a combined total of 680 kilograms.
Additionally, the inspection team issued six violations related to food handling personnel who lacked health certificates from the relevant authorities confirming they were free from communicable diseases. Six further violations were issued against the employer for employing workers without such certificates. Other breaches included operating the facility with an expired health license, failure to adhere to hygiene regulations, noncompliance with health requirements specific to the food facility, neglect of personal hygiene standards during work, and using the facility for purposes other than those authorized under its license.
This inspection underscores the authorities’ commitment to safeguarding public health and maintaining strict food safety standards across all food establishments in the country.
