Filipino Expat Nabbed After KD 21,000 Armed Robbery in Shaab Exchange Branch

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, has arrested the suspect involved in the armed robbery of a money exchange branch in the Shaab area, following intensive search and investigation operations.

According to security details, the Operations Room received a report of a robbery carried out by an unidentified masked individual at Al-Muzaini Exchange company branch. Security teams immediately responded to the scene and began collecting evidence and taking necessary procedures.

Investigations revealed that employees reported the suspect was wearing a mask and carrying what appeared to be a weapon, later confirmed to be fake. He was also in possession of a container suspected of containing gasoline. The suspect threatened staff, assaulted employees, entered the restricted area, and stole approximately 21,000 Kuwaiti dinars in various currencies before fleeing the scene.

Search and investigation teams launched extensive operations using advanced technical and security tools, leading to the swift identification and arrest of the suspect, who was identified as a Filipino national. Authorities confirmed that the arrest reflects the efficiency and rapid response of the security services.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its firm stance against such crimes, stressing that it will not tolerate any acts that threaten public safety and that legal action will be taken against all offenders.
