Fifty expats deported till Nov for involvement in quarrels – Scores arrested in security campaigns

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: Complying with a directive from the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security in the Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al- Tarrah, security operatives embarked on a series of campaigns in all six governorates within 24 hours and arrested 50 people wanted for civil and criminal offenses.

Security operatives from the Capital apprehended a Kuwaiti man for evading a three-year jail term in a drug-related case. He was referred to the concerned authority.

Meanwhile, officers attached to the Capital Command nabbed three people for financial related offense ranging from KD 1000-KD 5000 in different parts of the governorate, in addition to 4 residence law violators, 5 marginal workers, 3 street hawkers and 11 others who could not produce their civil IDs.

Also, they arrested a Syrian wanted for betrayal of trust in Kuwait City, and the relevant authority has since been investigating the case. And, officers from the Farwaniya Security Command arrested 24 individuals for various civil and criminal cases, in addition to residence law violators and marginal workers.

All suspects have since been referred to concerned authorities for legal action. Meanwhile, personnel from the General Department for Residence Affairs organized a wide campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh under the supervision of Major-General Saud Al-Khader recently and arrested 40 violators of residence law.

According to a security source, during the four-hour campaign several persons holding domestic visa were caught working as car mechanics. The source added the violators shall be deported and their sponsors shall be summoned for interrogation. If the sponsor had not filed a missing persons report on those who have been arrested, the sponsor will not be eligible for more visas. Most of those arrested are believed to be Asians.

50 expats deported: A total of 50 expatriates of different nationalities were deported during the period from January to November this year due to their involvement in quarrels. Meanwhile, a Pakistani expatriate was arrested for infiltrating into the country via sea few months ago. The infiltrator was seized in Shuwaikh Industrial Area. He has been referred to the concerned authorities in preparation for his deportation.
