MANAMA, Dec 4: Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Arab Tennis Federation, announced that the fifth edition of the Arab Masters Tennis will take place in Manama, Bahrain, from December 18 to 22. The event will be supported by the National Bank of Kuwait, KGL, Kuwait Airways, and KDD, and will feature top Arab players ranked in the ATP (Professional Tennis Federation) and ITF (International Tennis Federation for juniors).
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Courtyard Hotel, where Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber highlighted the tournament’s growing importance and continued success since its launch in Kuwait in 2021, noting it has become a key platform for internationally ranked Arab players.
The tournament aims to provide Arab players with valuable experience and opportunities to enhance their skills. This year’s edition will also include the Arab Under-16 Championship and a coaches’ course, further boosting the technical value of the event.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and the General Authority for Sports, as well as the National Bank of Kuwait and KGL, for their ongoing support. He also thanked Kuwait Airways (official carrier) and KDD, stressing that their sponsorship is vital for sustaining and advancing Arab tennis. He extended appreciation to the Bahrain Tennis Federation, led by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and the Bahrain Public Security Officers Club for ensuring the success of the tournament, along with beIN Sports for their annual coverage.
The number of participants has been increased from 16 to 24 players to allow more Arab talents to showcase their abilities. The federation is also offering enhanced prize money, raised from $30,000 in the fourth edition to $50,000 in this fifth edition, aiming to attract top players and encourage high-level competition, according to Secretary General Eng. Ali Lafi Al-Mutairi.
