WASHINGTON, Oct 5 : FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer and political commentator Alexis Wilkins have announced their engagement after more than three years together.
Wilkins, 27, announced the engagement Sunday on X, posting a black-and-white photograph of herself standing beside Patel, 46, while displaying her new diamond engagement ring.
“Went and got the law involved,” Wilkins wrote in the caption, adding heart and engagement-ring emojis. Patel subsequently reposted the announcement on his own X account with matching emojis.
The couple has been together since 2023. Wilkins previously said she met Patel at an event in Nashville in 2022, and reports say they began dating the following year. She was also present when Patel was sworn in as FBI director on February 21, 2025.
Wilkins is a country singer and political commentator. She released her debut musical work, Grit, in 2023 and has subsequently performed at several high-profile events. She has also been associated with conservative organizations and political causes.
Patel, a former federal prosecutor and Trump administration official, became the ninth director of the FBI in February 2025 after being nominated by President Donald Trump.
The engagement announcement comes as the couple has remained in the public spotlight, particularly since Patel became FBI director. Patel has faced scrutiny over his use of government aircraft for trips that critics said lacked an apparent law-enforcement purpose, including a trip to State College, Pennsylvania, where Wilkins performed the national anthem at a professional wrestling event.
Neither Patel nor Wilkins immediately announced details about their wedding plans.
