KUWAIT CITY, May 26: Father Bigoul Anba Bishoy, senior priest and patron of the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Kuwait, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (May God protect him), His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (May God protect him), the government of Kuwait led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah (May God protect him), the generous Kuwaiti people, and all residents of Kuwait, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

In a press statement, Father Bigoul wished Kuwait many happy returns, and conveyed to the Kuwaiti leadership and people the greetings of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, and of His Grace Metropolitan Antonios, Metropolitan of Jerusalem, and Archbishop of the Holy and Ancient Archdiocese of Jerusalem, all Palestine and the Near East., as well as of the priests of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait. Father Bigoul explained that major holidays carry profound human and spiritual meanings, as they offer people an opportunity for rapprochement, forgiveness, and the restoration of peace. Holidays restore feelings of tranquillity and human warmth that society needs at all times. What distinguishes holidays in Kuwait is their refined social spirit, where feelings of love and connection are renewed, and family gatherings, diwaniyas, and visits become spaces for coming together and strengthening human relationships.

Eid al-Adha also reinforces the meanings of sacrifice, giving, and altruism, and reminds people of the importance of love, doing good, and supporting others. Father Bigoul pointed out that this year’s holidays come at a time when people are increasingly in need of wisdom, tranquillity, and the adoption of a language of dialogue. He stressed the importance of adhering to human values that bring people closer together and provide hope and peace. Father Bigoul praised the wisdom of the political leadership in Kuwait, headed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah (May God protect and preserve him).

He affirmed that the State of Kuwait, throughout its history, has presented a balanced model of moderation, tolerance, and respect for humanity and its rights. Father Bigoul said Kuwait, through the wisdom of its leadership and the steadfastness of its approach, has maintained its stability and its distinguished humanitarian standing, which is highly valued by the international community. He concluded by expressing his wishes that the blessed Eid Al-Adha would bring goodness and peace to the region and the world, and that God would continue to bestow upon the State of Kuwait the blessings of security, stability, and love.
