Father Bigoul extends wishes to Kuwaiti leadership on Eid al-Fitr

KUWAIT CITY, March 18: Father Bigoul Anba Bishoy, a senior priest of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Kuwait, extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, the government of Kuwait led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, the generous Kuwaiti people, and all residents of Kuwait on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

In a press release, Father Bigoul prayed that God grant the country greater security, stability, and prosperity. Father Bigoul conveyed the greetings of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark in Egypt and the diaspora, as well as His Grace Bishop Antonios, Metropolitan of Jerusalem, Kuwait, and the Near East, along with their prayers and best wishes for Kuwait’s continued success, safety, and progress along its blessed path of development. He affirmed that Eid al-Fitr is a significant occasion that renews the values of mercy, love, and tolerance, bringing hearts together in a spirit of purity and loyalty. He emphasized that holidays in Kuwait consistently carry a distinctive humanitarian character, reflecting the unity and solidarity of Kuwaiti society. Father Bigoul highlighted that the region is going through a delicate period and facing significant challenges due to the ongoing war and tragic events.

He emphasized the importance of upholding the values of wisdom and stability for which the State of Kuwait is renowned. Father Bigoul expressed his hope that peace and security will prevail throughout the region, that life will return to normal, and that dialogue and wisdom will triumph over the causes of conflict and tension. He affirmed that, under its wise leadership headed by His Highness the Amir, and with its balanced approach to regional issues, the State of Kuwait will continue to be an oasis of security, peace, and stability.

Father Bigoul praised the Kuwaiti leadership for its prudence in navigating the current challenges while safeguarding the nation’s security and strengthening its stability. He also paid tribute to the souls of Kuwait’s martyrs, honoring their invaluable sacrifices in defending the homeland and safeguarding its security. Father Bigoul commended the Kuwait Armed Forces for their efforts in protecting the nation and its borders, as well as the personnel of the Ministry of Interior for their ongoing efforts to maintain security and stability.

In addition, he praised the vital contributions of various state institutions, including the Ministry of Health, the Kuwait Fire Force, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, all media outlets, and other vital sectors that continually strive to serve the community and meet its needs. Father Bigoul said, “What sets the State of Kuwait apart in such circumstances is the unity of its internal front and the solidarity among its leadership, people, and institutions.

This reflects a deep sense of responsibility and attachment to the beloved homeland. As a result, Kuwait remains, in times of both celebration and challenge, a model of human solidarity and national unity.” He concluded his greetings by saying, “We pray that God protects Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, grants the country continued security, stability, and prosperity, and allows everyone to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with goodness and happiness. We also pray for peace and tranquility throughout the region and the entire world.”
