Father Bigoul Anba Bishoy, a senior priest of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Father Bigoul Anba Bishoy, a senior priest of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Kuwait, congratulated the State of Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people on the occasion of its National Day and Liberation Day, and wished the country continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity. In a press statement, Father Bigoul extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (May God protect him), His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (May God protect him), His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al- Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (May God protect him), the government of the State of Kuwait, and the generous people of Kuwait.
Father Bigoul prayed that God would return these cherished national occasions with Kuwait achieving even greater heights of progress and prosperity. He also conveyed to the leadership and people of Kuwait the greetings of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark in Egypt and all the lands of the diaspora, and the greetings of His Grace Bishop Antonios, Metropolitan of Jerusalem, Kuwait, and the Near East, along with their wishes for continued success and prosperity for the State of Kuwait. Father Bigoul stated that National Day is an occasion to reflect on the values of belonging, loyalty, and development, and on what it represents as part of a firmly established renaissance journey shaped by the wise leadership and contributed to by the people of Kuwait, generation after generation. He emphasized that this occasion reflects Kuwait’s civilized image and its approach based on moderation, coexistence, and respect for humanity.
Father Bigoul explained that Liberation Day embodies the memory of sacrifice, redemption, and resilience, recalling the unity between the leadership and the people, and the spirit of national solidarity that successfully overcame the most difficult circumstances. This lasting memory will remain a testament to the strength of the Kuwaiti will and to Kuwait’s standing and significant Arab and international presence. He noted that these days, which coincide with the holy month of Ramadan, become a unifying occasion where Kuwaitis and residents alike come together around the values of love, loyalty, and belonging, renewing the spirit of one family. Father Bigoul concluded his greetings with a prayer that God protect Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, and grant them continued security, stability, and prosperity.
