KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: Father Bigoul Anba Bishoy, a senior priest of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Kuwait, congratulated the State of Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people, as well as all residents of this blessed land on the approaching holy month of Ramadan, and wished the country continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity.
In a press release, Father Bigoul extended his heartiest congratulations to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him), His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah (may God protect him), His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah (may God protect him), the government of the State of Kuwait and all its institutions.
He prayed that God would return the blessed month to Kuwait and its people with goodness and blessings. Father Bigoul explained that the holy month of Ramadan renews the values of mercy and purity and reinforces compassion, tolerance, and solidarity. The most beautiful aspect of this month is that it highlights the shared humanity among people and unites hearts through goodness and kindness. Kuwait, known for its genuine commitment to coexistence and mutual respect, presents a refined humanitarian image during Ramadan, reflected in its social customs. Among the most notable are visits to diwaniyas (traditional Kuwaiti gathering places) and Ramadan iftars (fast-breaking meals), which bring people closer, strengthen the spirit of unity, create social cohesion, and affirm that this nation, through the love of its people, warmly embraces everyone.
These authentic social traditions make Ramadan in Kuwait an exceptional occasion, embodying the spirit of one family and a compassionate society. They reinforce the values of participation and solidarity, making everyone feel like partners in a single nation and shared journey. Father Bigoul concluded his greetings with a prayer that God protect and bless the two sisterly countries - Kuwait and Egypt - and safeguard humanity from all harm. He prayed that God grant everyone health and safety and that He return this holy month to all with goodness and blessings.
