LOS ANGELES, March 3, (Agencies): An unexpected tragedy unfolded as a New York official responded to a fatal hit-and-run, completely unaware that his own son was the victim of the harrowing incident on Feb 17.
According to Binghamton police reports, 29-year-old Tyler Beschorner lost his life after being struck while walking on a highway in the early morning hours. The incident resulted in road closures, prompting Tyler's father, Corey Beschorner, an employee of the New York State Department of Transportation, to be called to the scene for assistance, as reported.
In a poignant moment, Corey shared, "This is one of our worst nightmares. When we were setting up, we were saying somebody's world is going to be turned upside down tonight. I didn't know it was mine or my family's."
The search for the vehicle responsible for striking Tyler is still ongoing, as reported by the outlet. A GoFundMe campaign initiated by a friend of the victim reveals that Tyler leaves behind a 7-year-old son named Jayden.
"His son was the center of his world, and Tyler was the center of his," the organizer expressed on the fundraising page. "Tyler was the most genuine and selfless person I have ever met. He was loved by so many people throughout his life and truly knew how to brighten the mood in any room he walked into."
