KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: Sabah Al-Salem area woke up at dawn yesterday to a house fire that resulted in the death of a six-year-old Kuwaiti child and the suffocation of two of his siblings and a woman who were taken to the hospital.

According to a security source, when the Operations room of the Ministry of Interior received information about a house on fire, security officers and firefighters from two fire stations were immediately dispatched to the location. They rescued four people from the house, and referred them to paramedics at the site who referred them to the nearest hospital.

The Public Relations and Media Department of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate explained that the fire had broken out in a house in Sabah Al-Salem area, and firefighters from Al-Qurain and Mishref fire stations rushed to the location to realize the fire broke out in an apartment on the first floor of the house.

The teams immediately worked on extinguishing the fire. Four people suffered from suffocation and were transported to the hospital, but one of them - a six-year old child - had died.

Investigations have been launched in this regard.
