KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: The detention renewal judge held the first session to look into the detention of the well-known ‘Fashionista’ who is charged with causing the tragic traffic accident that occurred at dawn on Thursday, August 24, at the Al- Soor Street intersection with King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road, and which resulted in the death of two people and serious injury of two others who were in the back seat. Al-Seyassah has learned from informed sources that the panel of lawyers defending the suspect has submitted a request for her release on any guarantee as the Sentences Renewal Committee deems appropriate, since she is a Kuwaiti citizen and not expected to flee the country or justice saying there are no justifications for pretrial detention.

The accused faces 10 charges : “manslaughter, accidental injury, driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating or narcotic beverages, exceeding the speed limit, jumping a red light, driving a vehicle recklessly, driving a vehicle with invalid insurance, driving a vehicle without holding a vehicle operating license and causing damage to the property of others.” By Jaber Al-Hamoud Al-Seyassah Staff and Agencies
