Farwaniya Raid Uncovers Illegal Liquor Factory Operating Inside Residential Apartment

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Kuwait’s morality police uncovered an illegal local liquor manufacturing and distribution operation in Farwaniya after raiding a residential apartment allegedly converted into an illicit factory by two Asian expatriates.

Acting on intelligence that an Asian man was using a rented apartment to manufacture and prepare locally produced liquor for distribution, detectives conducted surveillance and investigations before obtaining the necessary legal authorization to raid the premises. Officers reportedly caught the main suspect red-handed while he was manufacturing and preparing liquor for bottling.

The raid uncovered 180 bottles of liquor ready for sale, 18 barrels filled with liquor, and equipment used for distillation and evaporation. Investigators said the apartment was operating as an illegal production facility under extremely unsanitary conditions, raising serious concerns over public health.

During initial questioning, the suspect allegedly confessed that he had an accomplice involved in the manufacturing and distribution operation. Detectives subsequently arranged a trap and arrested the second suspect when he arrived at the apartment.

According to the security source, the suspects admitted that the locally manufactured liquor was sold to several Asian men, who allegedly resold and distributed it through an illegal network.

The two suspects were referred to the General Directorate for Drug and Alcohol Control for further investigation, with authorities working to identify other individuals potentially involved in the network. Security authorities reiterated that they will continue targeting the manufacture and distribution of illegal intoxicating substances and taking legal action against those involved.
