KUWAIT CITY, July 27: First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Al-Sabah has issued a resolution on amending some provisions of Article 29 of Ministerial Resolution No. 957/2019.

This article stipulates the executive regulations of the Expatriates Residency Law, specifically on allowing an expatriate who has no university degree to bring his wife and children to the country under the family visa provided his salary in the work permit is not less than KD 800.

Article One of the resolution amends Article 29 of Ministerial Resolution No. 957/2019 as follows:

To obtain a regular family visa for expatriates, the applicant must have a monthly salary of at least KD 800, as stated in the work permit.

Regarding the issuance of regular family visas for individuals present or born within the country, as well as those born outside the country who are not older than five years, to parents residing in Kuwait, the director general of the Residency Affairs General Department at the Interior Ministry will have the authority to exempt them from the salary requirement mentioned in the first paragraph of this article, per the regulations and conditions set by the Residency Affairs General Department.

Article Two states that the decision shall be enforced by the ministry's undersecretary and will take effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

The residency affairs departments in the governorates have begun accepting family visa applications from expatriates who do not hold a university degree but have a salary of at least KD 800.
