Falsified Inheritance Certificate Uncovers Citizenship Scam Involving 68 People

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: A recent investigation into a falsified citizenship file revealed that a Kuwaiti national had unlawfully added fictitious children to his official records. The deception came to light following the man’s death, when an inheritance certificate prompted authorities to verify the rightful heirs and exclude names not legitimately related.

The individual in question, a Kuwaiti citizen by birth, had included the names of children who were not biologically his own in his citizenship documentation. After his passing, his genuine children requested a review of the inheritance distribution. Suspicious of one of the alleged siblings, they reported the matter to the Nationality Investigation Department.

Detailed inquiries confirmed that, while most names listed in the inheritance documents belonged to true siblings, one name stood out as unrelated and was absent from the official inheritance registry. DNA testing conclusively showed no biological connection between this individual and the rest of the family.

Further investigation revealed that this person, born in the 1950s, had extended his fraudulent claim to citizenship to 68 other individuals who obtained nationality through him. Given the overwhelming evidence, including testimonies from legitimate siblings, official census data, and DNA results, the Supreme Committee has ruled to revoke the citizenship of the impostor and all those who gained nationality through him.

This case underscores Kuwait’s commitment to preserving the integrity of its citizenship system and preventing the exploitation of legal loopholes through falsified family records.
