Fake police abducts, tortures Asian expatriates for ransom

KUWAIT CITY, May 29: Securitymen from Farwaniya Security Directorate, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Security Directorate and Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Unit ended the series of crimes committed by a Bedoun who kidnapped Asians, assaulted, stabbed and tortured them through electric shock to fulfill his financial obligations as he demanded for KD 1,000 ransom from the families of his victims, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source disclosed six cases were registered against the suspect at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station. The arrest came when the securitymen arranged an entrapment after a number of expatriates reported that an unidentified person, who impersonated police, approached them in groceries or on the street, chained their hands and detained them in a livestock pen in Kabad. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing.
