Fake Fingerprints Used Again in Kuwait to Cheat Attendance System

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: In a shocking repeat of a scandal that shook the Ministry of Justice just months ago, Kuwait is once again confronting a fresh case of fingerprint fraud—despite strict penalties, criminal prosecutions, and ongoing government crackdowns.

A senior security source revealed that the Anti-Forgery and Counterfeiting Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation has now exposed a new, brazen scheme in Al-Ahmadi Governorate. The discovery underscores what authorities describe as a “persistent and alarming pattern” of attempts to manipulate official attendance systems for illicit gains.

According to the source, the case began when the company’s management detected suspicious irregularities in employee attendance logs. The discrepancies raised fears of deliberate tampering using artificial silicone fingerprints—a method previously uncovered in major government fraud cases. The forged prints were allegedly used to clock employees in and out, allowing them to claim work hours and financial benefits they were never entitled to.

Once alerted, investigation teams launched a sweeping inquiry. Search-and-arrest operations were carried out with precision, ultimately yielding conclusive physical evidence of fingerprint forgery. Authorities confirmed that the suspects had used silicone replicas to bypass biometric scanners, enabling them to falsify attendance records and siphon off public funds.

Several individuals believed to be directly involved in the scheme were swiftly arrested. They were transferred—along with the fabricated fingerprints and other incriminating materials—to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

The security source stressed that Kuwait’s competent authorities will not tolerate any form of corruption or manipulation of state systems. He affirmed that strict oversight continues across all government entities and that every attempt to defraud public funds or violate employment regulations will be met with uncompromising action.

The renewed scandal serves as a stark reminder that, despite repeated warnings and high-profile prosecutions, some individuals continue to test the limits of the law—only to be met by an increasingly vigilant and determined state apparatus.
