KUWAIT CITY, July 4: A person disguised as a securityman and driving a Prado intercepted an Iranian expatriate, assaulted him and stole KD 1,000. He fled the scene immediately after the incident. The victim lodged a complaint with officers at the Sulaibiya police station and said the accused, who had with him a pair of handcuffs, ordered him to show his identification document. The accused then dragged him to the Prado, stole the aforementioned sum, and fl ed the scene. A case was registered. Child’s phone stolen: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s who beat a juvenile in Quosur area and stole his mobile, and later sold the device to a shop in Mangaf area. A security source said father of the juvenile accompanied his son to the area police station and reported the incident. An Asian expatriate answered when the officers called the line, and he confirmed working at a mobile phone shop. He explained a citizen had sold the phone to him, and provided his details. In the meantime, owner of the shop was summoned to the police station and asked to bring civil ID copy of the suspect. A case was registered against him. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a case against a person who broke the glass of his vehicle in Shaab area and stole KD 300. Fingerprint was lifted to trail the suspect. Man assaults wife: A Kuwaiti lady accused a female compatriot of verbally abusing her in Rumaithiya area, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The complainant told officers at the Rumaithiya police station that a 40-year old Kuwaiti lady she knows had verbally abused her on the road in front of passersby. The accused reportedly declined invitation to the police station for questioning. Meanwhile, a Lebanese lady lodged a complaint against her husband in Hawalli police station and accused him of beating her. She presented medical report to support her claim.
