Fake cop robs expats

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: The Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti for impersonating a CID official and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after one of the victims gave police the location of the incident and description of the person. Police then got a warrant from the Public Prosecution, raided the home of the suspect, arrested him and handed him over to the concerned authorities.
Financial crimes: Personnel from the Public Security patrols have arrested about 20 people including 11 Kuwaitis and 9 expatriates of different nationalities who were wanted by law in connection with financial claims, reports Al-Anba daily. According to reports, the value of these claims amounted to KD 287,000 thousand. The arrest came at a security checkpoint in various governorates. Among those arrested were a Filipina who was wanted for failing to pay KD 37 and a Syrian for failing to pay 10 debts worth KD 90,000. All those arrested have been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
