KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: An Iraqi national dressed in military uniform and accompanied by two youths was arrested by patrolmen in Al-Rai area after he was spotted in a car dancing to loud music.

The officers were on a round of the area based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul-Fattah Al-Ali when they came across the suspect in a car with two other youths dancing to loud music.

He aroused suspicion of the officers due to military uniform he was wearing, prompting them to approach the car for questioning. They went on to check his identification papers and learnt he’s an Iraqi national. They also found photos of him on his mobile phone dressed in military uniform. Necessary measures were taken to refer him to concerned authorities for legal action.

Wrong place, wrong time: A 30- year old Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for taking photographs of Nawaf Al- Ahmad building at night using a small high-tech drone, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, when offi cers from Ministry of Interior noticed a small drone hovering over the building, they notifi ed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior and enquired if the drone belonged to them. Since the drone was not affi liated to the ministry, a patrol team was dispatched to the area and they searched the location to fi nd a man hiding in a yard behind the ministry and using a remote control to control the drone. They checked his details to discover he is a 30-year old Kuwaiti citizen. When they questioned him about the reason behind taking photographs of a building affi liated to Ministry of Interior at night, he became confused and claimed that one of his relatives is a TV director who had assigned him to take photographs of the building for a television program. Sources revealed that securitymen notifi ed Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad, who issued directives to refer the suspect to the State Security Department for further investigations
