In what can only be described as a crime-comedy set in Kuwait, a scammer dressed head-to-toe in a convincing Kuwait Police uniform decided it was his big day. Armed with confidence, he dialed an unsuspecting expatriate
“Police,” the scammer spoke sternly, for dramatic effect.
Unfortunately for him, he had dialed the wrong expat.
The man on the other end looked puzzled, tilted his head, and replied calmly, “No English. No Arabic. Only Elongo.”
This was not part of the scammer’s training manual.
Undeterred, the fake officer switched tactics—hand gestures, louder voice, and an intense stare through the video call. He demanded to see the expat’s bank card immediately, clearly believing fear would do the trick.
Just when the scammer thought he was in control, the expat asked him for money to celebrate Christmas
The scammer, growing desperate, repeated his demand for the bank card, forgetting one small detail: real Kuwait Police officers do not conduct financial investigations over video calls like a reality show audition.
Moral of the story?
Kuwait Police do not call, video call, or ask for bank details.
