KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Inspection Department of Public Authority for Food and Nutrition in Ahmadi Governorate launched a campaign on a number of shops in Fahaheel that sell food items, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The campaign resulted in the destruction of 15 kilograms of expired food items and issuance of many citations for non-compliance to the relevant regulations and conditions.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, Director of Inspection Department Saoud Al-Jalal said the citations issued during the campaign were for several violations such as selling food items that are not fit for human consumption, non-compliance with public hygiene regulations, and running shops without health licenses. In addition, 20 citations were issued against workers for noncompliance with the dress code and relevant health conditions
