Extortion, human trafficking cases in Kuwait co-ops

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26, (Agencies): The Public Prosecution has launched investigations into nine cases related to human trafficking and money laundering, into the exploitation of workers in cooperative societies due to their humanitarian and financial circumstances. The Public Prosecution explained that the defendants forced these workers to pay daily fees in exchange for being allowed to work, in addition to depriving them of their legal rights. The Attorney General has issued directives to form investigation teams composed of members from the Capital Prosecution and the Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Prosecution.
