TEHRAN, Jul 30: Explosions were reported in Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Bushehr and Sirik, among other locations in Iran, after Axios reported that a US official said the US military was conducting air strikes in the country. The cause of the explosions and the targets involved were not immediately clear.

IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency reported that three explosions were heard on Qeshm Island on Wednesday night, after US Central Command announced that US forces had launched strikes against Iran.

A security official in Iran’s Khuzestan province said missile strikes targeted areas near the cities of Ahvaz, Abadan, Shadgan and Arvandkenar, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.
Khuzestan Deputy Governor for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs Valiollah Hayati said authorities were assessing the scope of the incident and would provide further details, including possible damage, through official channels.
