TEHRAN, Sep 1: Four projectiles struck areas in the southeastern Iranian cities of Chabahar and Konarak on Tuesday, state-run IRNA reported, citing a provincial security official who said authorities were assessing possible damage.
Separately, Iran’s IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency reported a series of explosions across southern Iran. Six blasts were reportedly heard in Konarak at around 7:30 p.m., while eight explosions were reported along the southern coast of Qeshm Island between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Unconfirmed reports also indicated explosions near Qeshm Airport, with blasts heard in parts of Bandar Abbas and Sirik.
The state broadcaster IRIB also reported that an explosion was heard on Lavan Island. No immediate details were provided on the cause of the explosions, casualties or the extent of any damage. Authorities were assessing the situation.
