TEHRAN, Nov 3: Several explosions were heard from the direction of the sea near Iran's southern port city of Bandar Lengeh on Monday, according to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency.

The agency reported that the nature and cause of the explosions were not immediately clear.

No further details were available regarding the incident, including possible damage or casualties.

The report comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region and continued concerns over maritime security and developments around the Strait of Hormuz.

Also, five consecutive explosions were heard on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf, with their intensity suggesting possible impacts on the island itself, state news agency IRNA reported. IRNA said Monday that the explosions occurred in rapid succession and that some residents reported seeing two aircraft flying over the island. Local and provincial authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
