Explosion Sounds in Kuwait Linked to Air Interception Operations

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 6: The Assistant Director General of the Kuwait Civil Defense, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Marshoud, confirmed that authorities had received several reports of missile and drone attacks that breached the country’s airspace.

Al-Marshoud said the sounds of explosions heard in different areas were the result of interception operations carried out in the air, adding that the situation is currently stable.

He urged the public to exercise caution and immediately seek shelter when air raid sirens are heard, stressing the importance of following safety instructions issued by the authorities.

Kuwait’s air defense forces have intercepted 178 ballistic missiles and 384 drones since the start of the attacks targeting the country’s airspace, according to the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army. The Ministry of Defense said the threats were detected and neutralized in accordance with established rules of engagement as part of ongoing operations to protect the country. Authorities confirmed that the armed forces remain on high alert and continue to monitor developments around the clock to safeguard Kuwait’s territory and ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
