RIYADH, Aug 5: A tanker reported hearing a loud explosion near the vessel off the coast of Yemen, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

UKMTO said it received a report of the incident about 95 nautical miles southeast of Aden. The vessel’s master reported hearing the explosion in proximity to the tanker, but all crew members were accounted for and confirmed safe.

No environmental impact has been reported, and authorities are investigating the incident.

UKMTO advised vessels operating in the area to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity as investigations continue.
