KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Minister of Works and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Eng. Ali Al-Mousa said he has instructed the experts working in the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport to form a committee with the participation of stakeholders to follow up the implementation of state projects and remove the obstacles it faces, including the South Surra road development project, which includes Damascus Street and its intersection with the Fifth Ring Road, reports Al-Anba daily.

In an exclusive statement to the daily, Al-Mousa said the formation of the committee comes at a time when work begins on various projects around the country. Speaking of the roads project, he called it vital, because of its location and for that reason he is keen to speed up the pace of work to complete state projects and provide security and safety for road users and workers.

He went on to say, he hopes to see full cooperation from all the parties in the joint committee to work with vigor, follow- up and continuous communication, so that the projects are completed on time without violating the security procedures, abiding by traffic safety requirements for road users until the completion and implementation of the projects.

The South Surra project aims to facilitate traffic, reduce traffic accidents, raise the level of security and safety, and develop the “Fifth Ring” from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Street with King Faisal Street, upto the intersection of Damascus Street to make it traffic free between the 5th Ring Road and Ibrahim bin Abdullah Street.
