Expats Residence Scandal: Criminal Court Appeals for MP’s Immunity Removal

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13, (Agencies): The Criminal Court has postponed the trial of a current MP accused of forgery in transferring residencies of expatriates to January 7 next year. This delay is to allow the court to address the Parliament for the lifting of his immunity.

During yesterday’s session, the accused representative was present before the judge, but the court did not formally charge him. After the session concluded and the decision was issued, it was revealed that the court refrained from questioning him due to a legal obstacle, represented by the existence of immunity that has not been lifted until now.

A citizen had filed a complaint accusing the deputy of orchestrating the transfer of work permits of employees working for him to another company without his knowledge, and he demanded legal action against the accused deputy.
