KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The Criminal Security Sector, specifically the Department of Combating Electronic Crimes, successfully unraveled the case of unauthorized access to the Ministry of Electricity and Water systems. This breach led to manipulation and forgery in consumer readings and billing, causing financial losses.
Following a thorough investigation that involved utilizing technical resources and confidential informants, the Ministry of Interior apprehended a criminal network comprising expatriates from various Arab nations. This network was found to be altering meter readings in exchange for monetary gains. The evidence and materials seized during the operation have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
