KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said Kuwait Airways has been designated as the exclusive ground handling service provider for all airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport. PACA Chairman Sheikh Humoud Al-Mubarak told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday that this decision is aimed at supporting the national carrier in providing services to local, Arab and international airlines.
He affirmed this is a crucial step towards improving passenger services, enhancing operational efficiency, and developing and training national personnel in the air transport sector. He revealed that the PACA’s vision for the next 20 years is built on four pillars as follows:
- Developing and modernizing the infrastructure at Kuwait International Airport to boost operational efficiency and enhance passenger services
- Training and developing national personnel in the fields of air transport and civil aviation.
- Increasing non-oil revenues and strengthening financial resources.
- Knowledge transfer and leveraging global expertise in airport operations, air navigation and aviation safety.
He commended Kuwait Airways and its operational sectors for their pioneering initiative in providing ground handling services to civil aviation companies operating at the airport, effective immediately, wishing them success in this endeavor.
He expressed deep gratitude to the political leadership for their unwavering support for infrastructure development projects in Kuwait's civil aviation sector and for enhancing services at the airport. He acknowledged the diligent follow up and continuous support of Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali, contributing to the success of the civil aviation projects. He thanked the government entities that supported this project, particularly the Ministry of Interior, Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC), stressing that they played a vital role in providing all the necessary facilities to the national carrier. He also praised the officials and employees at PACA for their efforts in ensuring the success of this operation. He expressed gratitude to National Aviation Services (NAS), which provided ground handling services at the airport for 22 years, working alongside Kuwait Airways.
