KUWAIT CITY, May 16: The Criminal Court set May 20 for the trial of former MP Walid Al-Tabtabaie on charges related to State security. This came after Al-Tabtabaie posted statements on the social media platform ‘X’, as his posts were deemed interference and a challenge to the powers of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah, following the Amiri speech and suspension of the Parliament. The Public Prosecution had earlier decided to imprison Al-Tabtabaie for 21 days. He was transferred to the Central Prison after being arrested by State Security agents.
