Ex-MoI official in forgery case

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The Public Prosecution is investigating a former official in the Ministry of Interior on charges of forgery of official documents, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable security sources. This came after a citizen filed a complaint with the Residence Affairs Investigation Department as soon as he learned that a Bangladeshi was under his sponsorship of which he knew nothing about.

The sources said that immediately after the case was filed it turned out that the suspect was the former senior official in the Ministry of Interior and that he is also a former contestant in the National Assembly elections. He was summoned several times by the concerned authorities for interrogation, but allegedly to no avail. After the man was taken in for questioning, he was released on bail and the file was referred to the Public Prosecution and charged with forging official documents.
