Everything You Need to Know About UAE Golden Visa: What’s Real and What’s Not

DUBAI. July 9: The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) officially denied rumors circulating in some local and international media outlets regarding the alleged issuance of a “lifetime Golden Visa” to certain nationalities.

In its statement, the ICP emphasized that all Golden Visa applications are handled solely through official UAE government channels. “No domestic or international advisory agency is authorized to process or facilitate Golden Visa applications,” the authority clarified.

It further stated, “The categories, conditions, and eligibility criteria for Golden Residency are governed strictly by UAE laws, ministerial resolutions, and official regulations. Interested individuals are advised to refer to the ICP’s official website or smart application for accurate information.”

The clarification follows the ICP’s monitoring of misleading press releases from a foreign consultancy, which claimed that a so-called “lifetime UAE Golden Visa” could be obtained through a nomination process for a fee of AED 100,000. Some of these reports also suggested that Bangladeshi nationals were eligible under this scheme.

The press release was picked up by several Indian media outlets and a few UAE-based organizations, without verification or consultation with the competent UAE authorities. The ICP categorically stated that such announcements are not grounded in legal or official policy.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and public trust, the ICP said: “We are dedicated to providing a secure and transparent environment for all applicants, and we continuously update our services through our official digital platforms.”

Legal Action to Follow

While the ICP did not name the source of the false claims, it announced plans to pursue legal action against those responsible. “These entities have attempted to exploit the aspirations of individuals seeking a better and more stable life in the UAE by spreading misinformation for financial gain,” the statement said.

The authority strongly advised the public to ignore baseless rumors and false promises of fast-track residency, urging all interested individuals to rely solely on verified official channels.

The UAE Golden Visa remains a well-defined, merit-based residency scheme, administered solely through ICP’s platforms. Any offers promising lifetime residency for low fees or crypto investment are unofficial and fraudulent. Always check official ICP channels for accurate information and application procedures.

For accurate guidance and procedures, the ICP urged the public to visit its official website or contact its call center at 600 522222.
