The evacuation is required due to the termination of the occupants’ legal right to use the kiosks following the cancellation of the contract with the company licensed to manage and operate the market. That company had previously entered into temporary usufruct contracts with the kiosk occupants, while preserving all rights of the municipality. The decision further prohibited any individual or entity from occupying any kiosks or facilities in the Beriah Salem Market after the specified evacuation deadline. Any such occupation will be considered an illegal encroachment on state property, and legal action will be taken against violators. It stated that the Hawally Municipality branch, in coordination with the supervising authority, will enforce the decision using all available means, including forced eviction with the assistance of the Ministry of Interior, and the issuance of encroachment reports against anyone violating the evacuation order for unlawfully occupying state property. The decision also noted that the Projects Sector’s Construction Department will take over the market site after evacuation in order to take the necessary measures.
