KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: In a major success for Kuwait’s ongoing campaign against narcotics trafficking, the General Administration of Customs announced that its Investigation and Search Department—working in coordination with Kuwait Airport Customs at Terminal 4—has foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish into the country. The drugs were found concealed inside the body of a passenger arriving from London Heathrow Airport.

According to authorities, the operation was launched after a confidential informant provided credible intelligence indicating that the traveler, a European national, was carrying narcotics internally with the intention of smuggling them through the airport. Customs officers placed the suspect under close surveillance immediately upon his arrival.

He was apprehended shortly after landing, and an initial inspection revealed 312 grams of hashish in his possession. The suspect was then transferred to Farwaniya Hospital, where medical staff extracted the remaining narcotics concealed within his body. Following the procedure, the total quantity of hashish recovered was confirmed to be 412 grams.

The General Administration of Customs stated that this operation underscores the persistent efforts of customs investigators, search teams, and airport customs officers in countering drug smuggling attempts. It reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the customs security system and protecting the nation and its residents from the dangers posed by illicit substances.
