RIYADH, April 8: EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the US-Iran ceasefire is a relief, but cautioned that uncertainty persists across the Arab region. In a post on X, she said she met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi in Riyadh to discuss efforts to move from the two-week truce toward a more lasting peace, alongside broader regional security issues. Kallas added that the crisis highlights the need for a stronger EU–Gulf partnership, including closer security and defence cooperation.
