EU imports from Kuwait slightly up in August 2018

Kuwait’s exports to EU valued at $562m and imports from EU at $476m

BRUSSELS, Oct 30, (KUNA): The 28-member European Union’s imports from Kuwait, as well as imports of the 19-member Euro area from Kuwait in August 2018 were slightly up compared to August 2017, according to the latest figures released by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical agency. EU imports from Kuwait last August were valued at 495 million euro ($562 million) and EU exports to Kuwait at 420 million euro ($476 million).

In August 2017, EU imports from Kuwait were valued at 420 million euro ($476 million) and EU exports to Kuwait at 472 million euro ($535 million). Euro area imports from Kuwait in August 2018 totaled 495 million euro ($562 million) and exports to Kuwait at 340 million ($386 million).

Euro area imports from Kuwait in August 2017 were valued at 320 million euro ($ 363 million) and exports to Kuwait at 472 million euro ($536 million). Meanwhile, EU imports from Kuwait for the January – August 2018 period totaled 2.20 billion euro ($2.49 billion) and exports to Kuwait at 3.78 billion euro ($4.29 billion) for the same period. Euro area imports from Kuwait for the January-August 2018 period totaled 1.77 billion euro ($2.0 billion) and exports ateuro 2.76 billion ($ 3.1 billion ) for the same period.
