KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) , with the cooperation of the Public Authority for Manpower, continues to screen engineering certificates to ensure their validity and conformity with work requirements in the country and scientific approvals in this regard, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to a report, 4,320 engineering certificates were submitted during the past six months by residents of different nationalities for attestation, out of a total of 5,248 certificates submitted through the automated system.
There were seven forged engineering certificates, four of which were for expatriates of Indian nationality, and the others were those belonging to a Venezuelan, Jordanian and Egyptian. The report indicated that 74 certificates have not yet been verified, and 928 engineering certificates are currently being verified.
In addition, an official source in the Kuwait Society of Engineers affirmed that legal measures were taken against the forgers and those who authorized them to issue a recruitment visa to work as engineers. He said the society continues to verify the certificates provided to engineers working in Kuwait, irrespective of whether they are old or new engineers.
