KUWAIT CITY, Sep 7: The Ministry of Social Affairs has instructed cooperative societies and unions to identify employees aged over 67 and take the necessary measures to terminate their services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and decisions. The ministry stressed that all affected employees must receive their full financial and employment entitlements.
The ministry asked the Union of Cooperative Societies to circulate the directive to all cooperative societies and submit proof of implementation, along with a list of employees covered by the decision, within 30 days. The move is aimed at regulating the cooperative sector’s workforce, supporting job replacement plans and creating opportunities for young and qualified Kuwaiti talents in line with the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035.
