Emirates to resume flights to 9 cities

DUBAI, May 13: Emirates Airlines decided today, Wednesday, to resume some of its scheduled flights to nine cities around the world as of May 21, in a step towards easing the flight ban measures following the pandemic of the Corona Virus – Covid 19.


The company said in a statement that the destinations include London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan and Chicago in addition to several other international cities.


She explained that health measures, including social spacing, sterilization and wearing of masks, will be applied to all travelers and medical staff.
She added that travelers will not be accepted on flights unless they comply with the requirements and criteria for entry into the destination countries, “and this includes the approval of the Federal Authority for Emirates Identity and Nationality for residents who wish to return to Dubai.”
The Emirates CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said earlier that he expects “to spend at least 18 months and possibly more before the demand for travel returns to normal”, referring to the extremely negative impact that the Corona pandemic has had on Global aviation sector. (KUNA) –
