KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: Embassies and diplomatic missions in Kuwait have announced the cancellation and postponement of Ramadan events and gatherings, citing the current situation in the region. The Embassy of Bahrain in Kuwait decided to cancel its Ramadan reception, scheduled for Monday, until further notice. The Embassy of India also canceled its Ramadan gathering, which was set to take place at its premises, citing the security conditions in the region. The Embassy of Oman announced the cancellation of its reception, planned for Saturday evening, due to the current circumstances.
Meanwhile, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) announced the postponement of its Ramadan gathering scheduled for Saturday, indicating a new date will be determined later. The bank expressed its sincere wishes for the safety and security of Kuwait and its people. These precautionary measures are taken in view of the situation in the region, as diplomatic missions and international offices have opted to put off official gatherings and celebrations during this period.
